Milan Sládek's production of Zaubernacht, premiered in Dessau on March 7, used a mixture of Black Theatre techniques, puppetry, fantasy and actuality. The lighting designer was Ján Kocman. The music was played by Ensemble Contrasts conducted by Celso Antunes.

In this production, the "Lied der fee" (sung by Ingrid Schmidthusen) was integrated into the production, with the Fairy lulling to sleep a young boy (played by Lovis Dengler), conjuring for him a dream world of fantastic adventures and experiences.
